Headway East Northants has a long history of recruiting runners for the London Marathon.
Some runners have been entering the marathon each year for several years. The charity
relies on the sponsorship raised by these supporters. We offer Golden Bond guaranteed
places to people who are prepared to raise upward of £1,500 for the charity. Using
the Virgin Fundraising website individual runners are able to set up their own marathon
page which offers the opportunity to start fundraising as soon as a place is guaranteed.
A simple email to friends, colleagues and family members can bring in much needed
sponsorship for very little effort (apart from all of the training and the 26 miles
of the marathon itself that is). This method of collecting sponsorship also ensures
that the charity is able to maximise the amount raised through the gift aid system
which gives us an extra 25% on top of each £1 sponsored.
As well as becoming part of ‘Team Headway East Northants’ we provide ongoing support
from an experienced runner, help with setting up your webpage, a running shirt with
the charities logo on, information about the charity to support fundraising, advice
on raising the £1,500+ sponsorship and the great feeling of supporting such a great
charity!
